My first car, bought new by my father in 1986. I purchased it from him when I turned 17 in March 1995, and sold it on Feb. 28, 2000.

1992 Chevrolet Camaro Z28

Our 1992 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 was purchased by my father, Richard Bonte, from Gearhart Chevrolet in Denville, NJ in July of 1992. I bought it from him in March, 2000 after selling my much beloved but aging 1986 Trans Am. After only a short time, I regrettably sold the car to make way for the 2002 Chevrolet Camaro SS. The car moved to Ft. Collins, Colorado and then to Houston, TX.

2002 Chevrolet Camaro SS

2002 SS #4452 was ordered November 17, 2001 from Gary Eggers at Gearhart Chevrolet in Denville, NJ. The order was accepted almost immediately and the car was built by Chevrolet at their Ste. Therese, Quebec, Canada plant and delivered to SLP Engineering for conversion into an SS before Christmas. A few weeks off for the holidays, and a week or so in transit, and #4452 arrived at Gearhart Chevrolet late afternoon on Saturday, January 5, 2002. I got the call Monday morning, January 7, as I was shoveling the driveway from our first snow storm of the winter. How ironic. Went to see it at Gearhart that night. I picked up the SS on Saturday, January 12, an unusually warm afternoon for January. It has been more fun than life ever since!
