Standing in a place I have stood so many times, on the beach entrance at Reese Ave. I reflected here for a moment, of all the decades I have spent summers walking barefoot up here, through the gazebo, and into the warm sand. And of the winter visits, with snow on the sand and biting wind blowing off the ocean.
A big piece of all of us died with Hurricane Sandy. The Shore will never be what it was. Of this I am certain. But whatever it may be... I will be part of it. And it will, again, be part of me.
