This beautiful old mission was founded in 1797 by Spanish priests. It was built, literally, right next to the San Andreas fault, and has survived many devastating earthquakes (including the Great Earthquake of 1906). Two of the three bells in the wall were salvaged from the quake, restored, and added to the wall in 2009.
